The eagerly anticipated day has finally arrived, and today, September 25, marks the return to school for form one students in Senior High/Technical Schools in Ghana.
It can be recalled that a recent communique issued by the Ghana Education Service, announced that the initial resumption date of September 18, 2023, for Form 1 students had been pushed back by one week to September 25, 2023.
This change was made to ensure that educational institutions across the nation are adequately prepared to welcome the incoming Form 1 students and provide them with the best possible learning environment.
The responsibility of disseminating this crucial information fell into the capable hands of the Regional Directors of Education, who were entrusted with the task of communicating the rescheduled date to all Heads of Senior High and Senior High Technical Schools.
This strategic move ensured that schools had ample time to make the necessary preparations, including staffing, facilities, and resources, to ensure a smooth transition for the incoming students.
Parents and guardians played an important role in this process as well. They were encouraged to stay informed about this change in the academic calendar and to make certain that their children were ready for the new academic year.
While Form 1 students embark on their educational journey today, it is important to acknowledge that their counterparts in SHS 2 and SHS 3 have already resumed classes.
Their academic year commenced on August 14, 2023, following a well-deserved break that began on June 2, 2023. These students are well on their way to completing their academic year, with the calendar set to conclude on November 30, 2023.
