In an effort to enhance educational qualifications and empower educators across Ghana, the Institute of Education at the esteemed University of Cape Coast, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), announces the commencement of the Seven Cohort for the Bachelor of Education (Post-Diploma in Basic Education) Programs. This initiative, designed to elevate holders of a Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) to a degree status, is set to kick off in April 2024.
Aspiring educators who hold a Diploma in Basic Education are invited to apply for these transformative programs, which are delivered in the sandwich mode. Applications are now open until the deadline on March 31st, 2024. Interested applicants can conveniently apply online through the dedicated portal at topup.ucc.edu.gh.
A distinctive feature of these programs is the integration of online teaching and learning alongside traditional face-to-face instruction. This approach ensures flexibility and accessibility for students, who will require a smartphone, tablet, or any internet-enabled device to participate effectively in the courses.
Notably, only individuals who have successfully passed the Diploma in Basic Education Examinations or possess the DBE Certificate are eligible to apply. Importantly, there is no application fee required.
Upon enrollment, students will have the opportunity to choose their preferred program from the following options:

- B.ED. (Post-Diploma) Primary Education
- B.ED. (Post-Diploma) Junior High School (JHS) Education
