The National Teaching Council of Ghana has officially announced the full implementation of fees and charges for teachers, as approved by the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana in 2022. This significant decision aims to support the council’s regulatory functions and ensure the quality of education in the country.
Under the authority granted by the Fees and Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2022, the National Teaching Council has introduced the following fees and charges that will apply to all teachers:
NTC Licence Registration Fee & Renewal Charges
- Licence Card: Teachers will be required to pay GH₵200.00 for obtaining their teaching license.
- Renewal of Licence: For the renewal of a teaching license, teachers will need to pay a fee of GH₵100.00.
- Registration of Teachers: A fee of GH₵50.00 is applicable for the registration of teachers.
This new fee structure is a critical step towards ensuring the continued professional development of teachers and maintaining high educational standards in Ghana. It also aligns with the National Teaching Council’s mission to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the country.
