The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the long-awaited timetable for Private Candidates (Nov/Dec) who have registered for the upcoming examination.
This important announcement provides crucial information regarding the examination schedule, potential variations in question paper duration, and accommodations for visually and hearing-impaired candidates.

Timetable Variations
Difference in Time on Question Paper and Timetable
- It is essential for candidates to take note that when there is a difference in the duration indicated on the question paper and the official timetable, the duration on the question paper should take precedence. This ensures that candidates have the correct timing for their exams, which can sometimes vary.
Question Papers Given Out in Advance
- General Knowledge-In-Art Paper 3: Candidates preparing for General Knowledge-In-Art Paper 3 should be aware that the question paper for this specific subject will be provided two weeks before the scheduled examination date. This early distribution aims to give candidates ample time to prepare thoroughly.
- Project Work Papers: Candidates taking subjects like Basketry, Graphic Design, Leatherwork, Ceramics, Sculpture, Picture Making, Textiles, and Jewellery that require project work will also receive their question papers two weeks ahead of the examination. However, candidates are advised to pay attention to communication regarding the exact delivery date for these papers.
Accommodations for Visual and Hearing Impairment
- WAEC has taken a significant step in inclusivity by offering additional time to candidates with visual or hearing impairments. These candidates will be allowed one and a half times the time allotted to other candidates. This accommodation ensures a level playing field for all students, regardless of their abilities.
