The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education-Ghana (PRINCOF) has officially released a revised academic calendar for the 2024/2025 academic year for all public Colleges of Education in the country. Dated 27th January 2025, the update follows recent developments and resolutions of key issues affecting the academic schedule in these institutions.
According to the communiqué, students at various levels—particularly Levels 100, 200, 300, and 400—will observe the following timelines:
Key Dates and Activities
- Orientation for Level 400 Students
From 11th to 15th November 2024, Level 400 students are expected to report to campus for orientation in preparation for their macro teaching sessions. - Start of Macro Teaching
On 15th November 2024, Level 400 students are to report to their various schools of attachment to commence their macro teaching exercise. - First Semester Begins
Levels 100, 200, and 300 students will report to campus from 27th January to 18th April 2025 for the first semester, which spans a period of 12 weeks. - First Semester Examinations
Examinations for the first semester are scheduled from 21st April to 2nd May 2025, lasting 2 weeks. - Semester Break
A 6-week break will follow for Levels 100, 200, and 300, from 3rd May to 14th June 2025. - Second Semester Commences
All levels (100 through 400) will resume from 16th June to 5th September 2025 for the second semester, which will also run for 12 weeks. Notably, Level 400 students are expected to stay outside campus during this period. - End of Second Semester and Exams
Final examinations across all levels will take place from 8th to 19th September 2025, also lasting 2 weeks. - End of Academic Year
The academic year will officially close on 20th September 2025, leading into vacation.
