In a landmark agreement reached on November 14, 2023, the Government of Ghana, represented by the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC), Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations (MELR), and Ministry of Finance (MoF), joined hands with Organized Labour, comprising various workers Unions, Associations, and Institutions within the Public Service of Ghana.
This collaboration, under the banner of the Public Services Joint Standing Negotiating Committee (PSJSNC), signifies a significant step forward in addressing the base pay for the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) in 2024.
Terms of the Agreement
- Base Pay Increase: The Parties have agreed to a substantial 23% across-the-board increase in the Base Pay on the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) from January 2024 to June 2024.
- Mid-Year Adjustment: Effective from July 2024 to December 2024, the Base Pay will undergo a readjustment, further increasing to 25%.
