The Ghana Education Service (GES) has made an exciting announcement regarding the recruitment of the first batch of degree holders from the Public Colleges of Education for the year 2024. At a press briefing held on 4th July 2024, the Management of GES shared important statistics and details about the recruitment process, particularly highlighting the number of successful applicants who will be joining the teaching workforce.
As part of the recruitment drive initiated on 11th May 2024, GES invited applications from qualified, trained teachers who graduated with degrees from the Public Colleges of Education. The response was overwhelming, with a total of 21,010 interested applicants submitting their applications.
After a rigorous selection process, GES has confirmed that 12,784 graduates from the Public Colleges of Education have met the necessary qualifications and have been successfully considered for employment.

The successful applicants are required to proceed to the gespromotions.gov.gh portal from 5th July to 31st July 2024 to participate in the ‘self-posting’ module, a new initiative introduced by GES. This module allows the qualified teachers to select their preferred Region, District, and School, facilitating a smoother transition into their teaching roles.
The introduction of this self-posting module aims to enhance the teaching and learning environment by ensuring that newly trained teachers are posted to regions where they can communicate effectively in the local language. This not only promotes better educational outcomes but also allows teachers to be closer to their families, providing additional economic support.
GES is dedicated to ensuring a seamless recruitment process and encourages all successful applicants to follow the necessary steps on the portal to secure their postings and appointment letters. The introduction of a QR code for validation on the appointment letters further reinforces the authenticity and integrity of the recruitment process.
Congratulations to all 12,784 successful applicants! Your journey towards shaping the future of Ghana’s education begins now. Stay tuned for more updates on the recruitment process and other important announcements from GES.
