As the dust settles and the numbers add up, we can now declare that Opoku Ware School has emerged as the second school to secure a coveted spot in the grand finale, following in the illustrious footsteps of Achimota School!
The journey to this spectacular showdown was nothing short of a rollercoaster ride of wits and intellect. Opoku Ware School, Pope John SHS & Min. Sem., and Prempeh College battled it out in four intense rounds, each round more exciting and neck-to-neck than the last.
Round 1 set the stage for the intense competition, with Opoku Ware School taking an early lead at 16 points. However, Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. and Prempeh College were hot on their heels with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Round 2 turned up the heat as Opoku Ware School continued to show their mettle, amassing a total of 23 points. Yet, Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. and Prempeh College were not backing down, closing the gap with 17 and 16 points, respectively.
By the time Round 3 arrived, it was a three-way nail-biter, with Opoku Ware School at 25 points and both Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. and Prempeh College at 20 points. The competition had everyone on the edge of their seats.
Round 4 took the excitement to a whole new level as Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. raced ahead with 36 points. But the thrill did not stop there, with Opoku Ware School and Prempeh College breathing down their necks at 35 points and 33 points respectively. The battle was fierce, and the stakes were higher than ever.
Finally, the dust settled, and the scoreboard spoke for itself. Opoku Ware School emerged triumphant with a grand total of 38 points. Their remarkable journey had led them to the pinnacle of success, and they had secured their spot in the grand finale of the National Science and Maths Quiz 2023.
Prempeh College put up an outstanding fight, finishing with a commendable 36 points, just narrowly missing the grand finale. Pope John SHS & Min. Sem. also showcased their remarkable knowledge and skills, ending with 36 points. While they may not have secured a spot in the finale this time, they demonstrated the spirit of true competition and sportsmanship.
