The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has introduced a life insurance policy to provide financial support to students who face the unfortunate loss or disability of their sponsoring guardians or parents. This policy ensures that students continue their education uninterrupted by offering benefits such as financial assistance and maintenance allowances during such difficult times.
Key Features of the Policy
- Coverage for Death of Student/Sponsoring Guardian
This provision ensures full insurance benefits in the event of the natural or accidental death of a student or their sponsoring guardian. - Permanent Disability Benefit for Sponsoring Guardian
If a sponsoring guardian suffers from permanent total disability, whether due to natural or accidental causes, the policy guarantees full benefit payments to the student. - Maintenance Allowance for Students
Students are eligible for a monthly maintenance allowance of GHS 2,000.00 if their sponsoring guardian faces death or permanent disability. - Disability Assurance Cover for Students
In the event of accidental disability or injury to a student, the policy covers associated costs based on the severity of the injury.
