On Sunday, October 8, national service personnel across the country received reassuring news from the management of the National Service Scheme in a form of statement released by the Management of the Service.
The concerns that had been brewing among service personnel regarding their unpaid allowances for September and arrears dating back to January through June 2023, following the recent upward adjustments of their monthly stipends, were finally addressed in an official statement.
In the statement released to all media houses, Management, under the leadership of Executive Director Osei Assibey Antwi, extended their gratitude to the national service personnel for their patience in the face of challenges while serving their country.
According to the Executive Director, allowances for September 2023 have been released to the Scheme and are currently in the process of being prepared for payment, with the aim of disbursing them as soon as possible.
The Service has reassured all service personnel that allowances for October, as well as the outstanding arrears, are actively being processed and will be paid shortly after the completion of the September allowances’ disbursement.
In light of this, all service personnel are encouraged to exercise patience and understanding, as the standard financial procedures are meticulously followed to ensure that all deserving allowances are promptly paid.
NSS has acknowledged and commended the remarkable patience and resilience exhibited by all service personnel in the face of the challenges they have encountered while serving their country.
As the mandatory one-year national service comes to a close at the end of October 2023, the Service says it wishes all national service personnel the very best in their future endeavors.
