Dr. Eric Nkansah, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has disclosed that the GES is actively seeking financial clearance from the Ministry of Education to recruit university graduates holding Diploma and Bachelor of Education degrees. This announcement brings hope to many graduates eagerly awaiting opportunities in the education sector.

During a recent Facebook interaction on the press briefing titled “Recruitment of First Batch of Degree Holders (2022) from Public Colleges of Education,” Dr. Nkansah in the comment section assured graduates that once financial clearance is secured, the recruitment process for these university graduates will begin promptly.

An essential aspect of this upcoming recruitment is the implementation of a self-posting mechanism for university graduates. Dr. Nkansah highlighted that this system, already in place for the first batch of degree holders from public colleges, will be extended to include university graduates.

This self-posting module allows candidates to select their preferred region, district, and school for posting. They can generate their appointment letters online, which they will then present to their respective regional education directorates to complete the necessary onboarding procedures.

Dr. Nkansah assured that the GES is committed to ensuring transparency and efficiency in this new recruitment process. The self-posting mechanism is designed to streamline the placement process, making it more accessible and fair for all qualified graduates. By reducing bureaucratic delays, the GES aims to create a more efficient and modern recruitment system.

He also acknowledged the patience and resilience of the graduates who have been waiting for this opportunity. Dr. Nkansah reiterated the crucial role that new teachers play in shaping the future of education in Ghana and emphasized the GES’s dedication to supporting them throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
